PORTFOLIO

Ghostwriting

I took a lead role in Esurance's content marketing strategy, which included ghostwriting several articles on behalf of Esurance experts. These were published on partner sites with the goal of improving Esurance's SEO rankings and domain authority. Here are a few of the articles I wrote.

Side Hustle 101: What You Need to Know about Renting Your Car

Is IoT a Friend or Foe of the Utility Industry?

Protecting Pedestrians from Themselves in the Age of Distraction

Will Facial Recognition Protect Our Data in the Age of Autonomous Cars?

Esurance Blog

During my time at Esurance, I contributed to every aspect of the strategy for the Esurance blog, from content creation to design and content distribution. Take a look through the gallery to peruse some of my bylines.

Esurance MLB Sponsorship

In 2016, I oversaw all content development for Esurance's sponsorship of Major League Baseball. This included developing digital ads and landing pages, blog posts, home page takeovers, social media, and much more. As one of the company's most lucrative sponsorship deals, the content I created garnered billions of impressions.

Esurance Pay Per Mile

In September of 2015, Esurance launched their first usage-based insurance product, Esurance Pay Per Mile. In addition to writing all UX copy, including quote flow and user help content, I wrote advertising copy for display ads, multiple landing pages, and out of home ads.

Sports Authority Baseball Direct Mail

Sports Authority's annual baseball campaign was targeted toward Little League and Senior League players, so our advertising efforts focused on action-driven, aspirational language and imagery. The focal point of the campaign was this direct mail piece, which informed our copy for all digital, e-commerce, and print advertising that followed.

Sports Authority Back-to-School Direct Mail

For students, back-to-school season also means back to sports. I developed the copy concept for Sports Authority's 2014 back- to-school campaign, which used energetic, action-based copy to inspire students to fulfill their potential both on the field and in the classroom.

The Last Conquistador,
Sculptural Pursuit

In 1997, sculptor John Houser began a monumental undertaking -- creating the world's largest equestrian sculpture. But his tribute to the history of the southwest soon ignited a fierce debate on the role of public art in the United States. Here's my article on the subject, originally published in 2008.
